Foot Fish Fetish

A Fish Pedicure skincare treatment consists of tiny fish called doctor fish or garra rufa that eat the dead skin off of your feet. The treatment started in Turkey became popular in Asia and was featured on the popular television comedy, "Ugly Betty."

A customer sticks hands, feet or other body parts into a pool and the fish eat off the dead skin. They don't have teeth and they don't eat living tissue, but they apparently remove dead skin easily.

In Florida, they are trying to ban this process. In DC it appears it is making a HUGE splash! It seems that most state agencies have little issues with this new fad. The local health departments, however, have a problem with the communal pool that some salons use.
