Low Nickel Diet!!!

Hello, I've had dishydrotic hand dermatitis for years. However, last summer I had the worst and most frequent break-outs that I've ever had. It was so bad that the blisters got so deep that the skin would die, harden then fall off leaving about 75% of my hand in severe pain with the very freshest of skin exposed. I went to my Dr. who was only able to help out with oral steroids and topical steroid cream; but as soon as I was done with the oral steroids...it seemed to come back with a vengeance. I looked all over the internet when I came across an article talking about the link between gluten/nickel in diets and dishydrotic dermatitis.
I went to the Mayo Clinic website and looked up their low-nickel diet...I have since been eating low-nickel and no gluten and can't believe the difference it has made. My hands are great and I only have an outbreak if I stray from the diet. I strongly rec. anyone who is having this problem to try the low-nickel and gluten free diets, it has changed my life.

Katrina's Reply: Thanks, Kelly for the info. Hopefully a diet like the one you mentioned can help others in this situation. After all, where skincare in concerned, it's not so much what you put ON your skin, but what you consume that has an affect on your skin's health and appearance.
